Close personal relationships

Candidates are asked as part of the application process to disclose if they:

  • are a relative or partner
  • have a close personal relationship with any employee of the county council, county councillor or supplier

If the answer is yes, they are asked to state the name of the person and the relationship.

The Vetting team will contact the hiring manager with this information to check that it does not present a conflict of interest in relation to the role they have applied for and that they are happy to proceed with the recruitment process.

Any applicant who fails to disclose such a relationship or directly or indirectly seeks the support of a manager or councillor for any appointment within the council may be subject to disciplinary action.
