New travel booking system
On 20 January, our travel booking system will be updated. Existing bookings will remain valid but won't be viewable in the new system. Please note any current bookings before the update.
Apply for a new or replacement security ID card or report a lost or faulty card.
All Essex County Council and partner employees must have a smart ID card used for identification, door access and 'follow me printing'. You must carry your card with you at all times and never allow others to use it.
All employees have access to general staff areas in all council buildings to promote mobile and flexible working.
Day passes are available at council building receptions and the County Hall security office for staff who have forgotten their ID card. Providing staff photo ID cards are not expired by more than a week or contractors requiring access only. These will not work for ‘follow me printing’.
Any employee providing training in E4 training rooms must provide the E block reception team with a completed attendance form in order for reception to issue training passes.
Avoid keeping your card next to a mobile phone or other proximity cards such as Oyster cards because they can wipe your card’s data. If this happens, security will attempt to revalidate your card but in some cases the card will need to be replaced and you may incur a charge of £7.50.
Contact security if you have any problems with your ID card. If you are unable to get to the security desk in person please call security.
If your manual login does not work on the printers, then neither will your smart card so you’ll need to contact Mitie.
Line managers are responsible for returning leavers ID cards to the security office at County Hall.
For general enquiries, contact Mitie.
