Digital strategy - Working in partnership

Published: 12 June 2025

The way that we work is changing, and the pace at which we need to adapt is ever-increasing.

What we have done

We have:

  • built strong links and collaborations with a wide range of partners, including charities, health organisations, suppliers and the voluntary sector
  • adopted sector-standard platforms such as Local Government Drupal (LGD) for our website and intranet
  • become active participants in the LGD community of practice and benefit from developments made in other councils, as well as sharing and contributing our own
  • made it easier and quicker for those serving Essex residents to work together by enabling secure digital collaboration and information sharing

What we are doing

We need to:

  • make sure services continue uninterrupted, especially in the context of devolution and local government reform
  • empower and enable people to do the best for those we serve

How we will know we are successful

We will know that we have been successful when we:

  • have developed strategic relationships with all our partners
  • have a shared understanding of the systems that support our work, and plans to consolidate, rationalise and simplify them to make devolution and reform easier with common ways of working
  • have a strategic map of relationships with key partners across Greater Essex
  • are working across Greater Essex to define and share blueprints and repeatable standards for digital services, as well signing up to the same best practice standards
  • have established multi-disciplinary, multi-organisation teams across Greater Essex to work towards outcomes that matter for the people that we serve more quickly
