The project lead and project sponsor are responsible for:
- ensuring compliance with laws and policies
- overseeing the conduct of the research or evaluation project team
- ensuring that staff are skilled to do the role
This includes:
- children's safeguarding training and adult's safeguarding training completed within the past 2 years
- Prevent awareness training
- applying guidance for data protection and information management
- applying guidance for managing health and safety
- applying guidance for risk assessments
If applicable to your project, this may also include:
- raising a request for information governance support on the Assyst portal if personal data will be collected
- applying the lone working policy guidance
- completing a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for appropriate activities.
A DBS is required if the project includes regulated activity or you access 3 or more child settings within 30 days. For example, childcare, pre-schools, schools, children’s homes or adult community learning.
You may wish to start this earlier when you are planning the project.
