The research governance and ethics review is about making sure research and evaluation is safe, fair, and trustworthy and delivered in a respectful and responsible way. From planning the project, to the delivery of results and project reflection.
It supports staff by sense-checking the project plan and approach and keeping people’s protection, high standards of projects and adherence to legal and policy regulations at the forefront.

We will support you by assigning you a lead advisor from the our Research Ethics Panel, who will be the contact person for your project. They may ask you additional questions to better understand your project
You project will be reviewed by professional research and evaluation advisory staff, from our Research Ethics Panel, who are trained in research ethics and are independent from your project. The higher the complexity the more depth of review.
Subject matter experts can be brought around a project depending on the population being researched, the business area or a requirement for specific technical knowledge.
The project will be reviewed in line with national guidance and the ERSC framework.
