If you would like to informally arrange to work from home you should:
- find out if your role is suitable for regular working from home and that your manager is open to the idea
- check with your household insurance company (DOC, 21 KB) and your mortgage provider or landlord (DOC, 33 KB) and council that there are no restrictions to prevent you from working from home
Tasks for you and your manager to complete
You and your manager should:
- read the home working policy and guidance to make sure you are following health and safety practices when working from home
- work together to complete the working from home checklist (DOC, 71 KB) to make sure your home is suitable for regular working from home - your manager will record any issues that need to be addressed
- complete a Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessment - your manager will need to to address any issues in the assessment before you begin working from home

Record the working from home arrangements and schedule regular reviews. These can be recorded on My Performance.
You should review the arrangements if the role or the employee's circumstances change.
