Working safely with display screen equipment (DSE)

Our duty to protect employees from the health risks of working with display screen equipment (DSE), such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones.

The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations apply to workers who use Display Screen Equipment (DSE) daily for continuous periods of an hour or more.  

The regulations do not apply to workers who use DSE infrequently or for a short time.

Our policy and guidance helps make sure that we are working within the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.
