From the delivery of citizen services to the underpinning democratic and governance processes, this strategy’s vision is to make sure that the council’s core functions are resilient to cyber-attack.
In turn, this strengthens our ability to deliver the aims of our vision for Essex including the Everyone’s Essex strategy and the plans for levelling up the county.
This strategy is intended to cover all services areas delivered by the council, including our departments and schools, and the work with our partners, arms-length bodies and suppliers.
This is a bold and ambitious aim. To achieve the level of visible cyber security risk management across the council will require significant processes and reworking of operational governance.
The current plans for cyber security services identified in the Essex Digital Roadmap and the emerging Essex Digital Strategy are part of this change in posture and support the aims of this strategy document.
