Family Journey Buddy Scheme
Connect with a buddy to help with the transition of becoming a working parent.
This scheme connects Essex County Council (ECC) colleagues with buddies, to help support them on the journey to having a family and becoming a working parent.
This includes those returning from maternity, paternity, shared parental or adoption leave, as well as other experiences such as fostering, fertility journeys and blended families.
The scheme is run by a small group of volunteers who've been through the transition of becoming working parents. The aim is to support those starting a family during what can be a challenging time of transition and competing priorities.
Sign up to the buddy scheme
To request a buddy, fill in the buddy scheme sign up form and the team will match you with a supportive buddy.
You can also fill in this form to offer to become a supportive buddy to someone else.
The team will keep your information confidential. It will only be used for the purpose of matching you with the most appropriate person and understanding demand for the scheme.
