Shared parental leave

Share up to 50 weeks' leave with your partner in the first year after your child is born or adopted.

If you need to change your plans

You need to give at least 8 weeks’ notice if you change your plans, unless you submitted your curtailment notice before the birth or adoption. In this situation, you will need to give at least 6 weeks’ notice after the birth or adoption.

If you need to change or add dates to your SPL, complete the variation of period of leave notice form (DOC, 69KB) and upload it to the Assyst portal.

If you want to end your maternity leave earlier but continue with your partner's parental leave, complete the maternity and adoption leave curtailment notice form (DOC, 73KB) and upload it to the Assyst portal.

If you want to cancel your curtailment notice and you no longer want to share your maternity or adoption leave with your partner, you must contact Payroll using the Assyst portal.
