JCAD Core: our risk management system

At Essex County Council, we use the risk management system JCAD Core to record and manage risk.

The system is used to record risks at service, function and strategic level, as well as for any project or programme risks that need to be recorded on JCAD in addition to recording on project or programme books.

Log in to JCAD Core

Accessing for the first time

You need to be granted access if you are using JCAD Core for the first time.

Please contact the team at risk@essex.gov.uk to gain access. It is a single sign-in system, which means you will not need to enter a password each time you use JCAD Core.

JCAD Core training

The JCAD Core user guide (PPTX, 2MB) explains how to use all aspects of the system.

For information on how to use the system to report risks, read the JCAD reporting guide (PPTX, 2GB).

Completing a risk review is an important part of the risk management process. Follow the guidance on best practice for completing a risk review on JCAD Core (PDF, 80KB).
