New travel booking system
On 20 January, our travel booking system will be updated. Existing bookings will remain valid but won't be viewable in the new system. Please note any current bookings before the update.
Planning time off to attend doctor, dentist and cancer screening appointments.
You should book time off for medical and dental appointments outside of working hours or use flexible working wherever possible.
If this is not possible, for example when you are not given a choice, you can get paid time off to attend your appointment.
Screening tests can help find cancer at an early stage, before symptoms appear. When abnormal tissue or cancer is found early, it may be easier to treat or cure. Attending these appointments is an important way to prevent ill health.
Routine cancer screening, such as cervical cancer screening and breast examinations, should normally take place outside your normal working hours or using flexible working.
If this is not possible or if the screening is non-routine, then you may be given paid time off.
Speak to your line manager as soon as you can if you need time off to attend an appointment.
Once agreed, this leave should be booked as ‘medical leave' in My Oracle.
