All temporary agency workers at Essex County Council (ECC) must undergo pre-engagement checks, much in the way our permanent colleagues go through pre-employment checks.
The level of checks required is dependent on the role. You will have an employment vetting officer assigned to the temporary agency worker who will undertake the clearances required. You can contact the Employment Vetting team by emailing the Temporary Recruitment team (PDF, 125 KB).
Once the temporary agency worker is made compliant you will be notified, and you can then arrange a start date and order any equipment you may need for the worker, such as a laptop.
You cannot start any temporary agency worker until they have cleared the pre-engagement checking process, nor will you be able to pay for any work until they are confirmed as fully compliant.
