There are 3 park and ride facilities available in Essex:
We have a small number of parking spaces at Marks Tey station reserved for our employees, to encourage train travel for the second half of your journey.
A permit costs £200 (two hundred) per year. This works out as £16.67 per month, with a minimum usage of six months. This can be paid every 3, 6 or 12 months.
Permits are issued via an application process and set criteria. To apply, contact Travel.PlanTeam@essex.gov.uk.
EV charging points are installed at some of our key buildings, including:
The charging spaces at County Hall must be booked before you arrive on site, by using the My Room Bookings system. You will need to bring your own charging cable.
To make sure that as many Essex County Council (ECC) employees and partners can use the chargers, you will need to move your EV once it's fully charged. An overstay fee will apply if your EV remains connected after a charge is completed.
Any non EVs parked in these spaces or EVs that are not actively charging will be reported to the Facilities Management team.
The maximum charging capacity is 22kW, dependent on the vehicle's charging capacity. However if two cars are charging from the same unit, each car will receive a 11kW charge.
All chargers are linked to Fuuse software who manage the charge points.
You will need to bring your own charging cable. To use the chargers, you will need to:
The charging cost per kWh will be set by ECC, rates are viable due to change in energy costs and will be confirmed within the app prior to charging.
If you have any issues with charging, a phone number for Fuuse support is provided on the charger stickers.
The Fuuse App also allows you to register an AllStar card, so you can use your card directly on the chargers RFID reader to start and stop charging.
