Low risk purchases between £10,001 and £100,000

What you need to do if you're buying low risk goods or services with a contract value of between £10,001 and £100,000.

A request for quotation (RFQ) is a procurement method where potential suppliers are invited to submit price quotes and bid on a job.

When you should complete an RFQ

You should complete an RFQ for planned spends that have a total contract value of between £10,001 (ten thousand and one) and £100,000 (one hundred thousand).

The total spend should include VAT and any optional extensions.

This step-by-step guidance explains how to complete an RFQ.

If the total spend could add up to more than £100,000 (one hundred thousand), you should get advice from the Procurement team to check whether you need to follow the process for medium or high risk purchases.

If you are unsure which procurement process to follow, or need help completing the procurement process, contact procurement.team@essex.gov.uk for advice.
