Young people at work

Advice for managers and under-18 employees on how to reduce risks in the workplace.

A young person is anyone under 18 years of age. Young people are at greater risk of injury in the first six months of a job, as they may be less aware of risks.

The Young Worker Policy helps make sure all young people in the workplace are provided with the same protection from hazards as other members of the workforce.

The policy document includes the template for a risk assessment that should be completed to identify hazards.
