The risk assessment should be reviewed at least every three months or following medical advice.

Pregnant and recently pregnant employees may be at risk from:
- manual handling, which is the moving of items either by lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing or pulling
- work-related stress
- standing or sitting still for long periods
- exposure to infectious diseases
- exposure to chemicals, lead and radioactive materials
- work patterns
- acts of aggression or violence
