Women's Network

Our collective aim of Essex County Council's  Women's Network is to connect everyone who identifies as female across the council to share advice, experiences and information, helping us make the most of our careers and work together to make positive changes. 

To ensure that the network is a safe space where our members can discuss potentially sensitive issues, we have set out our core values in a code of conduct. The Women's Network is:

• dedicated to providing a respectful, supportive and harassment-free community
• a place to discuss issues that matter to women and those who identify as women in a way that suits us
• a safe space to talk openly, discuss issues and share advice
• a place were we encourage freedom of speech, but all members agree to show courtesy and respect the feelings and boundaries of others

These values apply to members of the network, our allies and any affiliated communities, on the Women's Network Teams site and in any supporting interactions and events.

Join the Women's Network

You can ask to join the Women's Network by visiting the Women's Network Teams channel. 

As a member of the Women's Network, you will be able to:

• connect and share experiences with colleagues across the organisation.
• connect with equivalent external communities
• connect with additional internal women’s network spaces covering career and personal development, neurodiversity and menopause.
• attend events in person and online with other members and external speakers
• engage with senior leaders
• access opportunities and resources for personal development
• talk openly and honestly

Working group

The Women's Network is managed by a group of volunteers from across the organisation to support the chair and the network.
