Making changes to salary information

As a line manager, you may need to make changes to your direct reports' salary information in My Oracle.

All positions have an allocated grade and salary range. Line managers can log into My Oracle and amend their employee's salary to any point within that range. Payroll will then be notified and will approve the transaction.

You can find out more on the My Oracle Guidance Hub.

Salary increase

With the changes to Essex Pay we are no longer able to accept most salary increases through My Oracle outside of the annual pay review, without a signed business case. You can still use My Oracle for:

  • Social Care AYSE changes or any changes linked to a recognised progression scheme
  • internal moves including acting up and secondments

Make sure you check when the payroll deadline is. All changes must be submitted before the deadline.

If an assignment change is submitted after the deadline and affects pay the change in salary will carry over to the following month and the employees’ pay will backdated or updated accordingly

Qualifying social workers

For Social Care employees receiving a salary increase due to graduation status, the relevant qualification information must be uploaded to the employee's record under 'ECC NMDS Qualifications' and the certificate and verification supporting information must be uploaded to their 'Document of Record' before submitting the change.

If the documentation is not uploaded to My Oracle before submitting the salary change, payroll will return the request for correction.
